Optimistic, happy, musical, caring

Lucy Emma Batchelor, 85, of St Petersburg Fla. 33714, passed away quietly Friday June 5, 2009 at Woodside Hospice in Pinellas Park, Fla. Optimistic, happy, musical and caring. Everyone who knew Lucy describes her that way. She was born on November 21, 1923 in Unity Township, Ohio. She was the daughter of Clyde and Cathrine Klitz Wilhelm. She worked as a secretary at Fitzpatricks Industries, East Palestine, Ohio and was a homemaker. In 1990, she and her husband George moved to Florida where she worked as a caregiver for Bayshore Homecare in Fla. Friends, music, faith and family were all important to Lucy. She was an active member of the United Church of God and had many friends at the Sunshine Center. She is survived by a brother, Clarence, of North Lima, Ohio; by four children, James of Reno Nev., Robert of East Palestine Ohio, Kathryn Terry of Seminole Fla., Michael of Fairview, Pa.; and by six Grandchildren and four Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, who she married June 29, 1944 and by three brothers Delmer, Norman, and Glen Wilhelm, and by a grandson Christopher Batchelor. Burial will be in Bay Pines National Cemetery. A celebration of her life by her children and friends will follow. Memorials may be sent to Woodside Hospice, 6774 102nd Ave. N.
